When i bought my car it came with a broken antenna mast. My father gave me a new antenna mast, and a brand new motor w/ antenna mast.
Here is my problem, I installed the new antenna mast, and I found out that there is a small, but important difference. the aftermarket antenna mast is not compatible w/ the stock fittings, It will extend and contract w/ the motor, but I have no way to stop it from fully extending and falling out.
I don't want to use the New motor w/ antenna mast until my old motor burns out.
I want to replace the old mast, but I can't find any place that sells a mast that will properly fit.
Assuming that the aftermarket antenna mast is correct, there is a small gear inside the mechanism that tells the motor when to stop. It might simply be loose.
If it's intact, you have a wide variety of masts to choose from if you try Autohaus AZ. I got the $30 one, last item, flat top peg with "h" for Hirschmann.
