water puddle under left hand backseat foot well

I have recently had my AC rejuvinated and it seems to be running well enough without going the full distance and replaceing the compressor and so on. What I have noticed is a persistent water puddle that drips down onto the pavement under the driverside back seat foot well. Is this the natural place for the AC system to dump condensation?

I only ask because the entire left rear foot well is rusted completely. It is soft to the touch and I dare not put any serious weight on it for fear of going straight through and then having an actual hole instead of just a flexible slab of rust held together by the undercoating.

I hope to have the foot well repaired but I suppose I need to remedy this water drain issue or I'll just have another rusted foot well after too long.

Anybody? Anybody? Beuler?

You got rust and undercoating WOW I got rust and air.

I think all water must collect there.

No not correct place should be draining under dash area near transmission there are two drain pipes it's suppose to drain out of.

MY GOD, i was wondering how long i had before my car made it to the crusher, now im glad to know itll be good for another 100 years.

my floor is 100% good but the vertical part that appears super thick has got a small hole all the way through on the bottom corner, which i always thought was because of the rear driver window being down when i found it sitting.

You think ? I do get a lot of heat from the exhaust pipes coming inside the car through the open areas on floor and with the AC broken it's a little hot lately. I feel like a NASCAR driver. Maybe your right. Even with the Ac running I got more heat from the exhaust than the AC could cool.

I think turbo240 has a parts coupe maybe he would cut the floor out, for a price that is. The guy at me JY will not cut the floor out, he said he didn't have anything to cut it with.

Turbo240 already working on cutting the floorboard out for me, Thanks for the suggestion and help with the regulator from your your local junk yard.

I was just joking, It been obvious I needed to replace the floorpan when my seat fell halfway through it.

How have you been driving if the seat fell through? Glad I could help with the window regulator, did you get it already?

I got a piece of sheet metal laying from front bar support to rear seat area. It's not welded or pop riveted but supports seat.

Not sure on your specific model but, on my '82 300tdt the metal underneath the battery tray was rusted through which caused water to leak into front and then rear passenger side floorboards. Rough cut rust out then fashioned new metal out of thin aluminum, riveted into place and then applied undercoat sealer. The key is to keep the engine compartment/fender drains clear of debris. A PITA job but, it must be done.
