Is it compatible with the w123 slots and vice versa?

The glass is definitely compatible - manual W123 mirrors have P/N with 116... so far from what I've seen anyway. Electric mirrors had P/N with 123...

Just like in the case of the W114/W115 side mirrors into the W123 or vice versa, they won't fit because of the housing triangle bracket.
