My 1982 240D has 350000 miles on it. I was having vacume problems that just about drove me batty. I ended up changing the vacume pump. all the other vacume problems went away now my transmission is driveng me batty. One morning I can get in and it wont shift out of first untill the engine winds up to the top rpm. the next morning it will shift right. the next morning it wont shift out of third to fourth unless it winds all the way up. T he next morning it is perfect. the next morning it is fine untill I turn on the a/c. If it would do the same thing two days in a row I might be able to figure out what to do with the vacume or adjust the transmission. has anyone ran into this problem? What do you guys think? Should I just give up and take it to a transmission shop?
