Help!! Won't shut off
1981 240d Car was fine turned off the ignition, still running. Tried the stop lever on the motor, no luck.

Check for a second stop lever on the IP pump. USA car?

You could always just block the air intake- by the way, the stop lever on my 240d is sometimes really hard to press- I've hurt my thumb a couple times getting it to turn off that way. Just be careful you don't burn yourself, those levers can get pretty hot!

There is a vacuum diaphram that may be no good??? Or a leak to it, near the IP.

4.5 hours is nothing. i once drove the car from fla to CT 1400 miles and only shut down once.. ( wanted to get something to eat.. lol )
