Well, after over a year in the works my 240D is finally back to pre-wreck condition. I still have a few incidentals to attend to: swap out the front bumper, install hood pad, reposition the woofer and amp in the trunk but for the most part she is drivable again. The first pic is for reference to how it looked on February 12th 2006, the rest were shot tonight.

Yea these cars will last a million miles but what with terrorists, natural disasters and the H5N1 avian flu pandemic... God help us there's anyone left here to drive them.

And thanks, I certainly couldn't have done it without the help and support of this board, everyone needs to take a good pat on the back for keeping another one on the road.

Don, I've got the OEM MB hood pad with the foil square, just haven't taken the time to install it yet. I've got to get some spray panel adhesive and a couple extra hands to do it, but it will be soon.
The grill mod is something I did to make it presentable without having to buy a new insert. The old plastic was broken and needed to be glued and all the chrome/aluminum was bent and dinged up. I decided to glue it and modify it to allow me to use door guard molding. The whole mod cost less than 20 bucks and looks surprisingly professional. I wasn't trying to be cheap but this repair cost me more than the car is worth so go figure.
Mercy, I don't have an exact figure but I know I'm over the 3,200.00 I received from the insurance company.... probably close to 3,500. But in all fairness, I went ahead and put in new Bilstein comfort plus shocks, a new battery, front end alignment and bushings... none of which was the result of the wreck, just decided to fix it right.
I thought you replaced the shocks because it looks like it sits about 1 inch highe then the rest of our car with the original shocks. How does it drive after every thing you did? Did you have to pull the motor out of the car?
