anybody got a good source for the halfshaft on 84 300d? i am going to take everyones word for it and not attempt a repair on this one until it is out and car is back FMC. i checked autohauz and they want $352+. i have seen talk of guys getting them cheaper. also, anybody here done the change out before?
How did these work out for you? That seller is still selling them for $65 each.
I was going to only replace the boots on my 85 300D, but from what i've read, the time it takes to do just the boot, it seems like it would be easier and take a lot less time to just replace the whole half shaft.
The positive feedback on the seller is over 27,000... why does this price seem too good to be true?

I scream with glee with my rebuilt (new to me) rear half axle. I bought it for 82 bucks with a 22 dollar core (i think; somew here around that price) replaced it myself and hmm probably put easily 30-40kwith no problem. and the miles just keep coming. if intrested i bought it from this place called mannlove from DOVER,DE; its a hour and a half away, but with my friend out there and a cheaply rebuilt axle, it was well worth the trip. Maybe theyll ship it. good luck
it might i say mailbuz; your picture looks a lot better then his ebay picture. also mine might have been new i dont remember; yeah it was i remember now my friend was saying your an idiot if you pay 25bucks cheaper to get one at the junk yard. so i was amazed with the price to, but you have to look real hard if your looking for a deal. there selling it for so dang cheap; they dont have the money to advertise
I bought a pair of the $65.00 ebay axles. They are actually a nice piece of work. Made in China, of course, and shipped out of Spartanburg, SC. Lifetime warranty. They are definitely not junk. I'd rather take a chance on these as opposed to "rebuilt".

How long have you had these "$65" axles on your car? how many miles do you have on them? I need to replace both, and would like to save a few hundred bucks if possible, thanks.

I haven't installed the axles, yet. They really do look like good quality pieces. Haven't had the opportunity to compare them to OEM. I do all of my own mechanical work, so even if they only last a few years, I'm ahead of the game. The replacement is not that difficult.

Sounds good, if you do get around to it, please enlighten us on there performance, I read Gregs300CD (Axle Removal) write up on replacing them, and it seems like it wouldn't be to hard, if its the same level or easier then the starter I should be fine...
