83 240d tranny swap!! - Benzworld.org

Hi all , I was thinking of swapping my auto tranny to a 4-speed manual... I know i will need the diveshaft,slave cylinder,pedal,... Is it worth it and what will i need to do it right?

If you are keeping the stock 4-banger engine, it's a simple swap-n-bolt-in process.

It will be much more easy if you have a parts car near by to swap from.

Bruce, if you're interested I have a 4 speed tranny and the shift rods sitting in a box in my living room. Where are you in CA?

I'm in san diego and still thinking if i should swap.... Because i got a really good tranny, so i'll let you know if i decide to swap it out ....

Having driven well over 800,000 miles in manual transmission 240D's, I would highly recommend this mod. You will find fun in driving your little four that you never knew about.
