keep in mind, the prototype skidplate will be pretty hardcore. meaning it will intigrate into suspension components which will not be easy to install, but dramatically improve handling capabilites. it may also have a visual impact not typical with the purists.
oh and that is a siiiiick wagon. i love it. i hope my coupe looks as good when i install benzoid123's pentas on it did i mention my front end is uhh... staggered now? mine is pretty low up front. i'll have to post pics when i get around to washing it.
I recently purchased 50mm lowering springs for 123 from a swedish company called dalhems, http://www.dalhems.com/framedal.html
I haven't fitted them yet so I don't know what they're like but it was very good value for a set of 4 including air freight to new zealand
Has anyone tried these springs?
Actually they came from Norway, looking at the website now I'm not sure how I managed it given that my Norwegian language skills are non existent.
I think I googled "mercedes 123 lowering springs" and it went directly to an english page in their catalogue

I am lowered 45mm from Euro Car Parts . Com - and it did cost a little to lower it with the spring price, and the air shipping...but when I did this in ~ 2000 it was the only real option I could find.
Some things on my car -
It is a mutt running a small block Ford with a FMIC and Eaton M-90, automatic (the manual shifter was going to be in the HVAC/Radio area - and I wanted the interior to look "factory") - it has a lot of custom work including a 2.5" stainless exhaust, Borla Muffler, JBA Headers...I could fill a page...
But -
The 2.5" you mentioned will be TOO LOW for daily use...My 45mm=1.7715" and I have fit the fender lips twice while turning (then finding a bump or pot hole) - it has happened - I have not yet rolled the inner fender lip - but body mods are planned this winter - I hope...
With out an adjustable rear set of eccentric bushings - you will chew up your tires - I was running a staggered tire width before - And I cooked the rears without rotation - Now I run a matched set and rotation comes every 1,500...
Kmac is the only company that I know of to HAVE manufactured the vulcanized bushings out lower control arms need to retrieve camber…they don’t have them anymore as far as I know – and last year at SEMA I asked the representatives…I’m all for fabricating – But I fee trying to manufacture rear lower control arms is a hard get with all that the arms do…if you are tackling that – good luck!
I am running Bilstein HD shocks all around – not ideal for the stroke – but without a completely custom set up – they are doing rather well…I am interested in the progress and completion of your set up…
In the front you have to adjust your control arm eccentric to regain some camber – and to clear my headers dad and I removed the steering box – saving some weight we installed a Mustang GT rack – front mount to help toe and machined our own steering arms…and I am running a Steeda bump steer kit…
I have 17x7.5 Monoblock type wheels
Slotted and diamond patterned rotors with Textar pads
Goodridge stainless steel flex lines
- all hard lines, both fuel and brake are 3 years old (chassis restore)
here are pics i took this morning. i love it! i need to wash it soon though. it's covered in desert dust.. but check out the pentas! they'll be professionally restored by yours truly.
