Since I was a kid, Ive always wanted a Benz, the biggest one. I baught a 300D, still have it, and love it. But a 116 was my dream for it was the flagship model. Finally, my boss sold me a treasure of his. Its a 1979 450SEL 6.9. Only has 58k miles. The car is bullet proofed as its previous owner was Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, The shah of Iran. Its in decent shape, but needs some work. Im going to keep it as original as possible. Heres some pictures....tell me what you think.
yea...the s-classes...my boss has about 4 others, and they all need some work. Low milage also...Mine has 58k. another has 40k, and 36k. They all need some work. The 116 model has always been my favorite even more so, one with euro appointments. He has lots of parts also...

What shape are they in? How are the floors and stuff as far as rust goes?
Its going to be a great project. They all have solid floors, and one actually has been garaged about 15 years, and has absoultely no rust....just needs work here and there interior is shot.
Looks like it's a good thing it's bulletproof. I guess I'll be "that guy" - it's spelled bought; no "a" in it. Be sure to share your restoration story with us.
