A USA 6.9 was rated 250 hp. A euro (and maybe rest of world) 6.9 was rated 286 (or thereabouts). Difference was compression ratio. No AMG involvement at all for that number.

The subtle AMG trunk lid badge signed by founder Hans-Werner Aufrecht gives a hint at the more powerful 280 hp version.
The subtle AMG trunk lid badge is non-period AMG and would have been attached by the owner after around 1993 when the AMG logo changed. I don't see any other suggestion of AMG work done to that car.
I don't see how this can be an AMG car, there is nothing there, no wheels, aerodynamics, suspension and no evidence of motor work. All I see is a nice euro model 6.9, nothing else.

Not an AMG. Just a Euro powered 6.9. The badge (as said above is wrong for the period) is available for $5 to anyone who wants to add one to their boot by going here on EBAY and buying one.....not sure why......
