Anyone have any insights either negative or positive on this model. There is an apparently mint one in B.C. with only 210000 k's. Price $ 7500

I've owned 2. Still drive one daily.

I think the are great cars. However, the W116 does have the reputation of having rust problems. Neither of mine had any issues but both are lifetime southern vehicles.

The other main issue can be the ACC servo. A really oddball piece of engineering that Mercedes borrowed from Chrysler that is prone to fail.

Yes the $ 7500 is in Canadian dollars. What do you think of the price if it's in near mint cond.

So that's about $6500 US and around 131K miles, right?

If it truly is "mint" then that may be a fair price. Hard to say without knowing the particulars.

I bought a certified "non-mint" 1980 300SD with 268K on it. It has been my daily driver ever since, and we even braved a harsh Minnesota winter together.

How much did I pay, you ask? $500.

That's a deal. I would gladly pay ten times that much for one of these fine machines if it was in good condition.

Even if the car is mint, I'd still bargain for a "wholesale" price.

I e-mailed the seller and she gave me info about the car. Apparently like new. She advised that there were several interested parties looking at it. She e-mailed me back within 1 hour and advised that the car was sold. It was'nt even 24 hrs. in the buy and sell. I was too far away to get down there to look at it myself.
