Key Replacement - 1980 300 SD

Does anybody know how I might be able to get a new key for my 1980 300SD? It seems that I dropped in the road today, where it disappeared in the 12" of snow that we have here in Minnesota.

I thought that I heard Mercedes will replace your key if you give them your VIN #, but I'm not sure if they will be able to do that for a 25 year old car.

If anybody knows something about this, please help me out.

THanks.

Nope. I live in South Minneapolis. My car is a choco brown sedan. A true fucking beauty man. . . .king of the road with all this snow.

I'll give Sears a call, see what they can do.

THanks man.

You have to go to the dealer to get a key made, bring your ID and registration and it's ususally $25-40 for a clean factory cut key.
