The transmission of my 280 se slips in park,, can this be fixed without removing the transmission?

Most likely you just need a pair of shift lever bushings. $3 for parts, about 40 minutes work, tranny stays put.

hmm... my mechanic is trying to rip me off i fear.

i got quoted around $300 for bushings in my tranny (mine slips in park, too, when trying to park on a slope). how easy is this to fix DIY style? i realize i have a different trans than oceaneer.......
