So.............How are your 116's doing?
Figure that it will soon be time for those pesky little problems to start for those of us facing the upcoming winter.
I myself have a reoccuring problem with heater blower motors burning out but keeping my fingers crossed that
I get to skip replacing this year[xx(]
Turd is just about ready for the -0 temps and
just have to get around to swapping the tires off to some Hanook studs on the hammers.Hoping that the D jet
doesn't make this a miserable experience as this will
be my first winter with this type of fuel injection[xx(]
So anyways, where are you guys at on your 116?Or are you squared away?
my steering is feeling extremely loose.... i was reading through the paperwork that came with the car, there's a recall notice from 76'... it explains my problem to a T. i'm trying to find a trustworthy shop to take a look at my car... it would be funny if the dealership still honored the recall. other than that there are a few small issues i need to address before they turn into problems.

will do, i have to stop by the dealer to get my passenger side view mirror glass sometime this week.... they won't know what to think of a recall letter from 76'!
We're well into Spring and Summers looking good, we had a reasonable Winter, well, except for the one day that it snowed
One day of snow and the whole city grinds to a halt, what a joke, all schools closed, half the work force stays home, almost a civil defence emergency
The first time since I've owned an MB that I havn't driven to work, quite a traumatic experience[xx(]
I have an engine swap to do. Old one is blowing lots of oil from the crankcase breather into the air filter, and is also way down in power (M110 280).
I have a (supposedly) good steering box to fit; the old steering feels like it is connected to the wheels with elastic bands. New idler arm bush kit too.
Oh, and fix my damaged sills (rocker covers in US?), thanks to some bozo jacking the car up in the wrong places.
