Centrifugal or screw compressor supercharger?
Which is better really.I'm aware of both types disadvantages and advantages but have never had either one equipped on a car.I like the simplicity
of the centrifugal type but not the low speed boost.
The screw type I am aware of some difficulties with
throttle placement and throttle response. The noise is of no concern and in reality I love the sound of both types. Also, can anyone suggest which type of intercooler works best with these two types of superchargers ? So anyways, lets hear from ALL you high performance gearheads out there.Looking forward to a lot of feedback [:)]
check out www.bahnbrenner.com.... they sell a lot of lysholm twinscrew chargers.... vw/audi performance... might find some usefull info though. they're pretty big in the pacific northwest... based in oregon too.
first of all as u maby know centrifugal.type like the one i like vortech..and an S-trim 680horses.1000cfm 20psiboost..ore T -trim 26psi and 1200cfm i think.they put out a rather good boost at say from 3000rpm and all the way up.they are very peaky in high rpm boost.and the twinscrew is the ultimate in low end torque and even at high rpm is good.the vortech gives much more space and its easier to install to,puch thrue a intercooler and have the throttel body in the same place as before u really doesent have to remove ore change any thing just bolt on ,but as i know mercedes does not have just bolt on kits right?so if not fabricate a bracket and ure allmost there.if u mount a twinscrew like kennebell .u will have to make a whole lot more to get the twinner on place.and the throttel body has to be mounted faced to the fire wall.in the rear inlet at the twinner.and u cant get the hood closed to u have to custom the hood to get it down.ore a scoop.thats why vortech is better.but if u want the best well just to cut a whole in ure hood and lets play and ure not regrett it.*big smile* happie tuning
