w116 front air dam?

Any known sources out there for a sporty front air dam for the w116? My stock valance is rusted and looks awful, and I think the attached photo's air dam looks great. Thanks!

RE: w116 front air dam?

That is an original AMG front air dam and wheels on that car. It would probably be feasable to have a copy made of the air dam if you can find someone with one.

Yes, that is the perfect airdam for the 116, not to outlandish...not too much, just enough

No idea where you'd get that one though

'Wicked Bodies' have a kit, but, it's incredibly ugly

I couldn't agree more. Side skirts and rear kit aren't really needed w/ this air dam. I really like that. [8D]

Depending on costs, I am getting closer to fitting one of these onto my 450SE. Personally I don't think the side and rear skirts nor the rear wing improve the look - they just change the appearance too much for my liking.

Yeah, I like that front valance. And I like the wheels, I like the euro bumpers, I like the euro lights....

*SIGH!* Well, one of these days my car might get there! Seriously though, I'd like to know where I can get one of those air dams too (and the bumpers, lights, wheels). My valance was swiss cheese.

(Edited to fix stupid comment I made before reading all the posts in the thread)

RE: w116 front air dam?

I would really like to convert my SD's appearance. I would rock the euro lights, euro bumpers, AMG (Penta?) rims, and the front spoiler.
My problems: Cost and resources.
I have searched everywhere on the web for this front spoiler. I can't justify spending $500-600 for euro lights, and the AMG rims don't seem to be an easy find either. Surely these little upgrades can't be this difficult, can they?

I had to look twice to make sure I didn't write this post! This is what I want to do too. Build kind of an "AMGish" 300SD but I know the "cost and resources" part all to well. [:(!]
