there has been a clunking noise coming from the driver's side rear of my 450 when i make a left turn. so today i found the time to jack the rear end of my car up and get under it to take a look. took me no time to see the sway bar was disconnected from the bracket that the sway bar bolts to... and it looks like some sort of a bushing that fits into the bracket came out with the sway bar end. because i didn't get a good look at how this works, i was curious if i should replace that bushing to prevent this from happening? the job looks simple, but just in case... anything tricky about this task? normally i wouldn't ask an stupid question like this... but I don't know anyone that is familiar with mercedes and I have no experience with them myself. broken parts are more expensive to replace on these cars than vw's, so i might as well do it right. at least i have access to a lift and own nice tools. any help is appreciated.

RE: rear sway bar question
That would be a torque compensator and not a sway bar.
Replace the bushings on both sides for best results and it is as easy as it looks.Recommend spraying with some WD40 and soak before attempting to loosen bolts or then it may become a difficult job.[:)]
thanks for the help. i wasn't sure of the name of the torque compensator. from previous experience it looked to be a sway bar. RWD is brand new thing to me, so is the different suspension. where do you buy parts online? there aren't any shops close to me that sell mercedes parts cheaper than the dealer.
