I am selling my Dad's 1980 300SD with 106K original miles. He has owned the car for the last 10 years and bought it from a snowbird who only put 47K miles when he acquired it. For the last 5 years my Dad who has been retired and lives in the Carribbean, only used the car when he came to Miami to visit. He is now 74 years young and has decided to sell his old faithful.
The car is mechanically perfect and runs and drives great, like an S-Type should. What the car really needs is someone to invest in a good paint job and a little TLC. I can help arrange to get a quality paint job with a friend of mines if interested. There are two small rust bubble spots on the car, but the car is rust-free otherwise. The interior is in very good condition and the wood is perfect. The front seats need to be re-padded and the drivers seat has one small tear in it. The dash has some cracks from the Florida weather, so it could use a dash cover. The air conditioning has been converted to R134 and needs to be re-charged from sitting. The AC servo has been changed as well as the glow plugs. The carpeting and headliner are in good condition. On the exterior all the chrome and mouldings are in very good condition. The front suspension has been re-built with new ball joints and tie rods, but it still needs two new tires and an alignment.
