I bet it's a scam. Anyone here trying to buy it? I'd figure out a way to buy it at that price if it's not a scam.

I wish I could. It could be worth almost triple the asking price.

UPDATE!!! The plot thickins!!

Here is a link to the website, where they say you can see the car. Looks like a lot of rust.
I also did a google earth street view, and it doesnt look like a place that would have these cars. It could be an old street view image.

http://www.havelockmotors.com/item/4...es-benz-190sl/

Anyone live in Nebraska that can check it out???

Below is the reply that I received from Birch.

My name is birch !,from Havelock Motors in Lincoln.
Thank you for your e-mail regarding our 1958 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 190 SL.We are happy to let you know that it is still available for $33,500.The car is in perfect condition, mechanically, as well as aesthetically, with no accident damage nor any other problems. It currently has 40320 miles and it comes with a clean title.
The vehicle is located at our lot in Lincoln,NE.I would like to take this chance and apologize for the inconvenience with the location. Our Craigslist marketing is based on a dealer software that places one car on multiple cities and states with just one click...I know it is not ethic to place an ad as being a private owner in one place and than respond as a dealer from another places however this marketing strategy brings us the exposure we need to sell our cars.
If you are interested please send us your email, phone and name so we can get back to you with details !
Thank you !

Well, the price is good. Even the surface rust on the undercarriage is solveable with some etching fluid or POR15. Assuming the guy has a CLEAN, NON salvage title and the numbers match, I'd go for it. I'm nowhere near Nebraska of course, but I'd trade my girlfriend's dog for such a car ...

Luna, you should ask if you can make an appointment to view the car in person and see what their reaction is.

In fact, if the whole thing works out and you DO buy me that car, I'll give you the dog for nothing. Just one option of many of course ...

Hunh! I don't remember ever seeing any palm trees any time I've been to Nebraska.

Scam.

Go to the third or fourth image down in the link.
