W111 Horn ring , beeping issues. 1962 220b

I had a sloppy column shifter so I replaced the two bushings and my improved shift pattern and ease of getting into reverse was the benifit. HOWEVER , now my horn sounds unless I leave the steering wheel loose on the shaft.

there are many pieces
brass horn ring
steering column ring - holds the brass ring in
the "wavy wire"
the spring
the two part early version of the steering wheel

I think I am getting it back together correctly but cant seem to keep the horn from honking...they are daggone loud horns too...
any thoughts -is something missing in my parts list. Where exactly does the wavy wire go ??

Beeping horn

I had to change the steering coupler which required the steering shaft to come out. After putting everything back together I started the car and the horn was blowing constantly. Found out I had pinched one of the wires and when I started taking the steering wheel off the horn stopped. Hope this helps.

thanks , it came down to clearance, a small teflon washer at the base of the steering spindle in the housing seems to have done the trick
