I didn't get any pics because the second I stepped out of my car I dropped my phone from my lap and the camera broke..but I did get to look at the car and I decided to pass on it. I was wrong about the interior color, the car is black on black. Unfortunately it had a good bit more rust than I was comfortable with, rockers and trunk were rotted out. Interior was in great shape, car didn't have a battery so I didn't attempt to start it. Fortunately (unfortunately?) the excitement of seeing this one has renewed my interest in them...I just think that I'll hold out for a better example. Thanks for everyone's help!

Good choice my friend, there will always be others! Man I tell ya, rust is worse than wiring... you never know where it is, what its intentions are, and it always ruins your day!
Keep us posted if you find another!
Good luck and have a wonderful day, and a wonderful time finding another jem to restore!

Thank you sir! It might be a while but I'll be back.

And I couldn't agree more, having gone through multiple restorations where rust was a major issue, if I can find a better example of something I'll gladly pay more. What you see generally is the tip of the iceberg. The problem is that w108 sedans aren't rare/expensive enough to warrant buying something that needs so much work. I'd rather buy something I can enjoy now for $5-6,000 more because I know in the long run I'd spend close to that repairing all of the issues the car I looked at yesterday had. Ideally I'd like to find something that could serve as a daily driver and this just wasn't it.

However a $1000 parts car could be invaluable. There are multiples of that just in parts.

Where is the car located? One of us vultures might want it.

Agree with Fonzi and Rumb bought a 93 320CE myself on a "fix it easy or break it" kind of whim, fixed rubbish idle and starting with a £15 sensor, car was water logged inside a few hours messing about cleared all the drain holes, now dry as a bone, £20 got a window regulator fixed and a few electrical problems solved, drives like a dream still needs some work but just brake disc and pads all the usual stuff paid £850 for the car and it was road legal and my wife drove it home! No longer a parts car! Worth a go though you gotta ad haulage costs at least mine could be driven.

I probably accidentally moved it when moving the two 560sl threads. I think this one is near done anyway. Maybe Rowdie will move it back for me.

Thank you!

As I understand it, the car in this post was in northern Alabama and is apparently sold (to someone else) anyway.
