Be careful who you trust
I work for a man who has multiple classic Mercedes that all need restoring, because of this I look for parts all around the country. About 3 months ago I found a parts supplier called JCM Parts, or John Marshall Restoration. John is located in Montana, I live in Louisiana. I ordered two rubber trunk mats for a 3.5 280se coupe and cabriolet. John told me that he had 15 in stock and had another shipment of about 30 on the way. I ordered them on the phone, he said that they would arrive by the end of the week.
Well after three months I still do not have these mats. I called him to complain and ask where these mats were, he then blamed his distributer and said that it was their fault for the mats taking a while. This does not make sense because when I ordered them, he told me he had 15 in stock.
To make this short, he basically called me a liar, and said that he did not need our business anyhow. This is a huge loss to him because we need a good parts person, and we will order thousands upon thousands of dollars of parts from them, just not John Marshall.
He also lost the business of a 300sl engine that has a crack, I told him this and said it needs fixing, he said that they would do it; He lost that business too.
The morale of the story is folks before you order a bunch of parts and spends thousands of dollars trusting one person... make sure they are a reputable source! Please don't make the mistake we made, make sure you know who you are dealing with.
In the case of dealing with John Marshall, I would not suggest him as a reputable source, customer service was terrible, getting parts was terrible, and he lost thousands of dollars of business due to his lies and BS'ing us.
Thanks and y'all be sure to check your sources!
