M117 distributor o-ring groove

Does anyone have a M117 distributor that can measure the slot for the o-ring. I'm trying to build a plug for mine (converting to individual coils). Trying to find out the outside diameter and diameter at the o-ring slot.

It sounds like you need a distributor out of a car. I think I might have a spare in my w108. It's really raining here right now though. So I will wait for your confirmation before running out in the rain and pulling the cover off the car.

Fonzi, correct....but don't get wet. I'm likely not working on it again until this weekend...plenty to keep me busy.

I'm converting to Megasquirt and LS1 coils, so I'm going to machine a plug using same o-ring to seal off the distributor hole. Just trying to get it all built prior to taking her off the road. If need be, I can pull my distributor , measure, and reinstall but if someone has one out of a car, it would save me having to set timing etc..

I appreciate it.

I notice your profile says "euro 4.5 engine". Is this a d-jet? What number engine is it you are using?

(I hadn't seen that before.)

Yes, it is a D-Jet. Engine is from a 1974 450SLC euro....117-982

The distributors are the same size, but I think the advance is different on the euro. Part of my desire to go to megasquirt for ignition is being able to give the car a bit more aggressive timing curve to take advantage of the higher compression of the euro engine.

This is from a d-jet 117.983 w116 motor that was installed in a 73 US Spec 450slc I parted out.

I need the diameter just above or just below the o-ring. Ideally I would like the diameter of the o-ring groove as well but you don't have to remove the o-ring to measure that if it is too much trouble.

I didn't tear the O-ring out, but the o-ring itself was slightly narrower than the 27.01 mm diameter that my calipers said. The o-ring itself was only 26.8 mm in outer diameter.

The shaft is 46mm long before it switches to the gear.
