looking for drivers side window regulator 1968 280se.

Hi All.
Does anybody know where i can locate a good used window regulator for a 1968 280se? Drivers side (left). Mine has some badly stripped teeth. I know parts geek has them but i would rather not spend $350.
Cheers John.

PS. I saw this one? Any thoughts?

I parted out a 1969 280s w108. I also have a 1973 280sel that has a dented driver door. I stripped all the doors from my parts cars other than the driver door. The driver door I put in the trunk of the 280sel, with even the door panel on it. It's an effort to strip down a door. My 1973 280sel is really a parts car too. So there not much sense in keeping the 1969 door for it, not intact anyway. So if you'd like to make me an offer for a "good" regulator, I can open up the door and find out if it is good. I will take me at least a week to get to it though. This is just one possible option.

(Ironically, all three of the other regulators are out already.)

I just sent you a pm. Let me know if it's in good shape.
Thanks Fonzi.

You can always have the stripped teeth rewelded. Just a little bit of weld and some grinding will put a regulator back in use.

That $99 one is probably pretty good also. It's not like the MB ones didnt wear out all the time anyway.

ok Guys.
I bought that $99 window regulator and it appears to be nicely made and sturdy. It's a nice surprise. Here is my trouble. Mine seems to be a little different from this new one. Essentially mine has a mounting bracket to hold the motor which is separate from the gearbox that mounts to the regulator. I'm guessing now my original; is an earlier design. To make use of this new one I need a motor and gearbox combined to make it work. Or change the new gear over and mount it on my original bracket? Any help or suggestions would be great. Here is a little video I made.

Thanks John.

I have a 73 parts car (half owned with another guy) and the driver door from the 1969 in the trunk of the 1973. It sounds like the 1973 has a later regulator design. I'm not sure when they made the change, but at some point the window switches were moved from the door to the center console for the front windows at least. I would assume the change was around the same time. My 69 has switches on the door, and both my 73s have no switches on the door.

We haven't really started parting the 1972 280sel 4.5 yet, but I think @rwd4evr is getting the warehouse as early as this weekend.

Mine is the 1968 with the switches on the door. I think what would be best is to try and locate a motor with the gearbox all in one. Mine is separate.
Do you have a motor and gearbox?
Cheers John.
