And think about what you are doing to that axle as you raise or lower the car while it's not in motion. I suggest that you only change heights while rolling from now on.

Yes, that's a new rule for me. No changing height unless rolling.

This thread has proven very helpful to me. My cheap running w108 has been sitting for years and I'm finally spending some time on it now, and I noticed that after hard acceleration when I let off the gas I get a thunk or thump sound from the rear. I was thinking that it was the trans mount or something until I remembered this thread. I think it may have saved me tons of time! Thank you!
