1975 240d injection pump trouble

Hi My dad just bought me a 1975 240 d 4 cylinder that has been sitting. we got it home and put a put little tank of diesel under the hood, used the hand pump to fill the big canister filter and started cranking the engine. then we loosened the injector lines at the head to see if diesel was getting to the injectors but there is nothing coming out. what is wrong, is the pump gummed up? can we fix it without pulling out the pump? can anyone tell me what kind of engine it is? dad thinks OM615 or what kind of mercedes it is like w123 but thats from 1976 on?

How long did you crank the engine, to bleed the air? Did you use the primer pump?

There are two fuel lines, one leads to the filter is a return line...The one that leads to the injection pump is the feed line....Possible you had them mixed up?

This is a model w115....Believe it is an OM616 in there...
