W111 280se coupe

Hi,

I'm from Holland, Amsterdam.
I just bought my first AMG. G-class.
But I also own a couple of oldtimers.

I am restorating a w111.
The color becomes 172.
Interior creme white.

The last picture is nor my car but the looks are the same

Nice one. So what colour are you going to paint the exterior of your car? I like white interiors, but my coupe project is a metallic grey like that last picture and I am going with a grey or black interior. A guy in NZ has a sedan in the grey colour and he is doing a beige interior.

Nice! Is it a low grill 3.5? That's where the big bucks are. I honestly don't think they're much different from the hih grill but rarity etc.

Good work!

Good work!

I personally can't tell if the subject car is a low grill or not. The last picture is not a low grill coupe. However that is not the car the thread is about.

Personally I like the looks of the high grill better than the low grill. I think the low grills look more like the W114 cars. So it's a good thing I like the high grill because I probably can't afford a low grill anyway.

I love the looks of all of these w111 coupes! Keep us posted on your progress!

Btw, the last picture is of a very well known modded car in Germany. Check out the engine...

Hello,

Im from Finland and Im the builder and the former owner of that modified W111 Coupe. I built that MB during 2000-2003. I sold it in 2005 to that guy behind the steering wheel. Obviously he has taken good care of his MB. I miss that car but I had to sell it to made my next project possible.

The owner has changed the one of a kind wheels (Compomotive rims with self made centers) to the W100 wheels. The car is quite "sleeper" now with those hub caps.
The car was/is quite quick too with 480 hp and 760 Nm...

About the color... I have to shock you. The color is from Opel and called 146 Olive Grey.

BR,
Matti
