Clock 76 W115

Does anyone know how or about the repair of the clock? Kris Rose is great, helped with my cruise control and its up and running . Now I am having my instrument cluster in for a tune up. The odometer repaired and now trying to get the clock ticking (I am picky).

Yes we all know its a "40" year old clock.

The capacitor has been changed with no luck.

I am a little reluctant to buy a used 40 year old clock. I haven't seen any new ones, besides if its out there I would probably need a mortgage to buy it ( not saying I wouldn't look).

I've contacted salvage sites that specialize in foreign cars (MBZ) and they want to sell the entire cluster.

I have gone on line looking (for clocks) and I have seen some for sale with the case, face, hands etc.. No internal mechanisms, huh !!??!!

Any recommendations? It would be great if there was some mechanism that would fit in to allow it to work (really keep time) for another 10, 20, 30 years ( ok Id settle for 10 years).

Take the case off the back and then spray contact cleaner on stuff. Put some fresh lube on the gears.

I have a spare clock that works, ticking
