leaking fuel return

hi all
i am still searching for a solution to my boggy warm starts, and following on from reading a post from Koan on the w116.org i pressureised the system and undid the fuel return hose at the distributer to check for drips and it was dripping, i counted, and its dripping at a rate of 20 drops a minute.

it stopped dripping after about 15 minutes

my question is would that be enough to cause a boggy, low idle start for 10-20 seconds when warm?

priming the system when warm does not improve starts.

hi Rumb

thanks for thr reply

the post from koan was not on my thread but on a thread about a similar problem of warm starting.

when i checked the return hose , hot engine, engine off and fuel system pressurised, i had a container collecting drips and it stopped at about 50ml so probably not enough to cause a problem?

the car starts fine cold drives fine except for a mis at low revs when warm,
when warm the car takes a long time to start 5 seconds crank and then it idles very low for 10+ seconds and if i put it in drive it wants to stall, but after this it gets up to a decent idle and drives fine. i have the idle set at 850 in park and 700 in drive which helps.

i have found a mechanic who has good experience with old mercedes owning a green 450sel himself so i will give him a call today and ask him to take a look

i have probably been doing too much tinkering on this car and it needs to be set correctly

best regards
