Thanks, I tried to register at that site but could not get past the verification word. I entered the words correctly.

No stupid questions here, ask away! There are members here that know about your model, however the experts on W113 are at Home - Mercedes Benz 230SL, 250SL, 280SL Pagoda Group. A lot of us know general restoration techniques. I restored a 1972 MG Midget 2 years ago, and I agree they are way simpler!

BTW, no pictures, it doesnt exist! Please post some photos.

I have the same problem a long time ago. I finally got it to work, but I don't remmeber what I did.

My father was a flight engineer in the Air Force. I've got old home movies he took on some of his missions in the 60's when he flew on KC-97 air tankers. Running those 4 28cylinder engines must have been a job!

I flew Hercs. in the Navy then flew the civilian version of the Herc know as the L382 at Southern Air Transport along with the B707, DC8 70 series, and 747 Freighters.
