W108 rear door fixed window seals, impossible to find?

Hey guys, finishing up my complete resto on my 1972 280sel.

I have managed to find all my door seals and vent window gaskets, basically the most expensive pieces of rubber I ever bought.

What I am not able to find are the rear window fixed window seals. My seals are cracked bad but trim and windows are perfect.

Any toughts?

Thank you in advance.

Do you have a part number?

I have been trying to find one, nothing yet rumb

My German suppliers are all in vacation.

Someone will eventually have to start reping these seals somewhere, front vent window seals were 150 Euros each!!!

Ouch.... hope these are not as bad

Its been a long journey..

It all started with me finding this beat up 1972 280sel 4.5.

I got it running and learning as I worked on it. Drove it daily for 8 months over 1200 miles a month... fell in love w the car.

So I decide to do a "simple" restoration, get the old girl looking better .... well we all know how that goes.

I decide to make some major body improvements:

-Custom front vallance, always tought w108s didn't look finished under the bumper

-Custom front split bumpers

-Custom grille

-Euro headlight swap

-Remodeled rear end, SL inspired

-Rear split bumpers

-Custom trunk latch button

-Shaved trunk lid

-Passanger side mirror

- AND THE BIG ONE....NO BODY LINES! Shaved mid side trim body lines

INterior:

- Custom w202 seats front and rear

- W202 Center console

- speaker kick panels

- 8" subwoofer on rear deck w enclosure

- All door panels dyed ferrari caramel

- new carpet

Engine:

Every single rubber part new.

Complete MAJOR tune up

Tranny tune up

Custom air suspension

18" HRE Forged 3 piece wheels 18x8.5 front 18x10.5 rear

So much more done .... pics on Instagram #mrmantovanelli

Will post some pics when I learn how to lol

The Cla$$ic Center will bleed your wallet dry. Have you thought of other brands or other Mercedes models' rubber bits, and modifying them to fit the window properly?

Mate, that looks like great work! I share your thoughts on the front valence area - at one stage I was looking at adapting a W114 unit to my W111. I also played with split bumpers to give that grille more prominence - a Holden FC bumper (1958 Australian car) has exactly the correct profile in plan view to wrap around the headlights. I will do that on my next coupe. I like your choice of wheels, though I am always partial to Rials & BBS as well. Your colour scheme is almost the opposite of my finnie, which is black with red wheels, interior and grille (also with a 450 V8 but unfortunately no bags).
I see you have played with a Riviera - I have had it in my head for a long time to try to get some stainless ribs laser cut to wrap around the Mercedes headlights (maybe the US version lights, but cut the bars in the shape of the euro ones when looking from above) so that the headlights are semi-hidden. Then cut matching bars for the grille. Make it look a bit meaner. I have also thought that the rear tail lights on the 108's and 111 coupes are too small. The ones from a 600 are larger - but not exactly thick on the ground to try out...

Now you can't sell that SEC, they are great...
Good luck with your projects.
Unfortunately I think unless a generic rubber shop has a profile and shape you can adapt, you will need to get the specialist rubbers from the Classic Centre. Not cheap, but neither is the build quality on your car - do you really want to be listening to a whistle driving down the highway, or seeing a bodgy seal every time you open the rear door to strap your kids in?!

Thats a good idea, but time is not on my side now unfortunately

For now I have to live with what I have Grubeguy, I am doing some magic to make this work for now eventually if I find a set I will swap them out.
