In a previous post I mentioned using a specific solvent to reactivate the PVC. Upon reflection I realized that although I am familiar and comfortable using the method others may not be. It can be very dangerous with out the proper protective gear.
Please do NOT attempt the procedure!!
Use a heat gun CAREFULLY to soften the PVC and try to work it back in place.
If this fails then I suggest removing the loose bits and applying a hardening sound deadener. One applied with a brush is the easiest to use. The spray ones are fine, just a lot messier to use.
