So I love my 73 280c m110 and all. But driving before it's fully warmed up is not super fun. If i hit the gas to merge into traffic, the opposite happens, it bogs down, feels like it misses a firing, bogs down, and i have to feather in the gas slowly to get back up to speed. Once i get it warm it's perfect.
But recently I saw this in my hagerty magazine. An article about how we love our classics, but let's face it, there are so many improvements in modern EFI engines. Spoiled by starting up right away, no cranking, take off cold, get good performance and they basically just sip gas. Of course ours are the opposite of all those things, and that's why we love em right?
So anyway, they posted a video (very cool) of a holley EFI conversion. I wanted to share it with you guys. I think you'd enjoy it.
I kind of feel like I am leaving a lot of power / economy / cold start get up and go on the table, and i'm not too much of a tuner, so there's something appealing about this. I have heard you guys mention "mega squirt" but don't know what that even is, and also some of you may have carb upgrade recommendations. (?)
