1965 220se

First time posting. I bought a 1965 220se just a few days ago. I know very little of these vehicles. Where can I look to see what size engine the car has? The vehicle looks to have fuel injection.

Regards

The "e" in the name stands for injection. I believe that the "s-class" cars normally had an engine size matching the name of the vehicle. So I would assume that your car has a 2.2 Liter injected engine.

Wikipedia is pretty decent on most car information. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_220SE

So you can see, you should have a w111 body car. A Fintail, Finny, etc.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W111

Your VIN can be checked with the checked with the classic center or with the Mercedes EPC (electronic parts catalog). You could post the vin here and most likely someone will tell you what you've got.

Most common issue? Rust

I think that has either the M127 or M129 engine. There should be model number plate at the rear side of the block, on either the driver or passenger side.

This car does have some rust. Well put.

This being a points car, is there an electronic setup for these distributors?

Try also Summit Racing, and looking through their Pertronix stuff. You can talk to a live person for tech related and sales related things as well. I've had a lot of good luck using them.

Try to contact Classic Centre or local dealer to get the data-card of your 220 SE. All modern electronic databases do not contains info about pre-1980 vehicles.
