Putting New Doors on W115?
There are vacuum lines for the door locks. I guess you could possibly just cut the lines and then join them together, but I think the right thing to do is to take the long vacuum lines from your car and insert them into the doors you are installing.
I had a hard time removing the rear door check pins on the 240d I just took apart, and gave up and just cut the door checks. On the front, I broke the button switches removing the door check pins. I didn't care about them.
Other than the vacuum lines and the door check pins, it is a bolt-on job.
I took the hinges with the front doors, accessible when open.
The rear hinges stay on the car, and the bolts are accessible with the front doors open.
I don't know if you will need to work hard to align the "new" doors.
I wouldn't expect that you'd need a body shop to do any of this work.
My dream car is a classic sporty five speed (stick+overdrive) convertible that seats five. If, you want 70's-80's Mercedes tuner wheels, let me know.
