W115 Cylinder Head casting numbers?

Hi, I was looking at my cyl head and noticed the number on it. It says
121 016 31 01. Which made me wonder why it starts with 121 since the engine is an M115??

Read somewhere that this was the casting number and that the number below (that's a 9.0) is the compression ratio.

Does anyone know the casting numbers of the W115 cylinder heads? This for gasoline engines of course.

Yes, the "9.0" is a CR designation.

Based on that number it looks like a 2 liter M121 engine.

Just saw a post on peachparts forum that touch this subject. The guy there had an M115 engine with the same number on the cylinder head that is on mine. And it is definitely a 115 cylinder head, it just seems it is one of the first ones.

The early versions of the M115 (115.923/926, etc.) came with "121" cyl. head.

Danke schön Herr Doktor

So my cylinder head is the right one for the engine, that's a relieve. I won't have to search for another one if it's in good shape
