W108 1972 280SE 4.5 leaking fuel

Hello all,

Today i started my car as part of a routine since I dont use it often, and noticed massive amount of fuel leaking coming from the area circled in blue. What sorcery am i facing here? and what should I do? Please help me

First, do not assume the actual leak is coming from the area you marked - it could be from the small hose to the right, from the filter, etc. Make sure to figure out exactly where it is coming from.


IF, in fact the leak is from the body of the pump,then you can either re-build it, or get a new one.

After you have determined that let us know and we will help you figure out the best option regarding the pump.

And if you do need a pump, the Nissan d-jet pump works and is much cheaper than one from MB.

I am assuming you are in North America with a 4.5. If you can fill out your profile or provide your approximate location, that would be helpful.
