W108 250SE Rally Project
I've posted before about my 4-speed floor shift 250SE W108 car. A few months ago, I got into a fender bender (guy hit my rear left quarter while i was standing still AND honking at him) with it, and instead of just repairing the rear left panel, I've decided to paint the whole thing. It's a very sporty-feeling car that I want to take to a rally-direction.
The car is currently primered up, and questions need to be answered as far as how to make it look the part of a vintage rally machine. I am open to suggestions/opinions regarding this process. It is really challenging with a 108, as there are so few examples out there, but that's part of the fun.
Bumpers? Obviously want them gone, but that front end looks so strange without one. The rear looks great though, in my opinion.
Chrome trim? Remove it all? Cover the holes up and paint over it? Same with the middle moulding that goes throughout the car. Keep? Remove?
Eventually, the interior will be stripped down as well, but doing the outside currently. Attached are a few photos of it's current state.
