Rust in the normal places doesn't seem to be a huge issue, and much of the body imperfections seem to be cosmetic in nature.

To your knowledge, when it smokes, it that even while in park? Or while moving and under hard acceleration?

Thank you!

No clue about the smoke. I have redirected three m117 4.5 d-jet cars from near dead. It's too early to worry about smoke. Most frequently with my past ones it was a cylinder not sparking and raw fuel dumping in the exhaust.

Being rust free, I hope I can save it, but won't cry if it ends up going the other way. I would likely just dump it on Ramon in Bethlehem, PA if I decide not to fix it, as I'm not looking to make money parting out cars.

Mike,

Congrats on your W108 purchase! Looks like it has potential. I redid my rusty floor with POR 15 on my W109 (came out great), so let me know if I can help out in any way. I also have lots of resources on W108/109 restoration info.

Thank you! I've done the POR-15 thing myself a few times. Next time I open up a can, I will probably have a few cars to hit all at once.

Congratulations Fonzi. You're living my dream. Fonzi is the king when it comes to finding great deals. I'm fortunate to own my 107026 and my W114 because of his eagle eye.

Doesn't sound like I'm getting any "I see a problem here..." Which is very nice to hear. I'm sure I will find all those after I go look at it for the first time.

As a result of this, I think I need to dump my 250c sunroof coupe project sans title and also dump my 80,000 mile 280slc 4-speed stick shift that needs body work with AMG clone bits (recaros, lip, steering wheel, Pentas, etc.) Those are both projects I would love to complete, but surely won't end up keeping either in the long-long term. So might as well cut to the chase, and maybe make some room in my schedule for house projects.

Two cars and lots of wheels up on ebay. Both of those cars would be larger projects despite already owning them because they both require welding. We will see if either of those go anywhere.

I will try to get better pictures of both today.
