Need Help Identify Barn Find

Hello.
I find this 197x-ish Mercedes convertible in a barn in south sulawesi, indonesia (its in the middle of forest, 6 hours from nearest city) for $800, and i need help identifying it bacause i dont have any experience or knowledge in this kind of stuff and this will be my first project.

I need help identifying what model it is?
Is it really convertible or the previous owner just cut the roof off (convertibles is extremely rare in indonesia, i have seen people doing it)?
And still it worth restoring? If its real convertible, it will worth around $50000 here

Thanks ^^

That's a 68-76 "stroke 8" "/8" w114 most likely a 250c.

It looks pretty beat down.

They never left the factory as convertibles but there are conversion kits available. I don't know if the roof was simply removed or if a soft top frame was added. I would investigate more if there is a soft top frame.

I actually think it is a pretty interesting project. It may not be factory, but would be a really nice roadster when you got done with it. Most of the parts are going to be standard. Building the soft top and reinforcing the frame to deal with missing B pillar and rear window should be simple for a good shop. Interior work should also be easy with a good shop doing the sewing. Since it would not be stock, no need to slavishly follow the engine either. You can put a diesel or petrol engine in from a donor benz. Even installing an OM617 turbo would be a nice upgrade.
