Body work suggestions for '56 190SL in CA?

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and would love some suggestions for finding a great body shop to restore my father's '56 190SL (which he drove off the production line in Germany way back when). My Dad is quite old at this point and he's asked me to help him figure out who can help us restore the car, which has been poorly taken care of for the past 10 years ago. We've found someone to rebuild the engine (Metric Motors in Southern CA), but we need some suggestions for body work. The car has never been in a significant accident, but there's lots of rust, bondo, bad paint jobs, and there's pits in the chrome too. I've attached a few photos to give an idea of the condition...

We aren't looking to restore to Concourse level, but we want it to be a fun car to drive around town. We don't have super deep pockets, but this is my dad's first love so trying to find someone who will love the project as much as my dad (and I) love this car. Anyone have any suggestions in the CA or NV area?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

That'll buff right out! Just kidding.

There is an excellent website dedicated to the 190SL.

Redirecting to site...

Suggest you try your question there.

Good luck,
