Go for it! I've done a little straightening of really bad ones myself, but most of mine just have ugly curbing as opposed to big dents.
The problem with metal is that usually once it stretched at a crease, it's really hard to remove the crease. And we are talking about an item that rarely fetches over $25 each / $100 per set.
