The chrome around the windscreens is seated in the seals. If you get them out without destroying them, you're a better man than most. In my own research in the subject, the entire assembly has to come out. For chrome around the doors, they're held on by clips which may have oxidized over the years, rendering them stuck/hard to remove. Body chrome (the long horizontal strips) are held on with plastic male bits that nestle in female plastic bits. Those are released with gentle prodding with blade tipped screwdrivers or putty knives.
