1966 Fintail Gearbox lid/shift tube/yoke access?

I have replaced the shift lever, ball socket assembly, pushrod bushings etc at the floor shifter. Now, I am making progress on the Four speed manual floor shift linkage at the gearbox lid. I have the car in the air on ramps, and can see the bushings are gone on the yoke and shift tube at the gearbox lid. It looks like there may be a floor panel I can remove from inside the car to get at this assembly-I see a screw coming through? Please let me know if there is a simple solution from the top inside, or if I have to drop the gearbox to get at it? I have the manual, and see all the parts. I am taking off the lower dash skirt to pull back the carpet and see if hopefully there is a removable access panel. I have first and second gear, unable to access third and fourth and reverse. The manual says to take it apart and reseat it into the splines correctly-may have to replace yoke end too while i'm here.
Thank you!

You do not need to go through all that work to replace those bushings. There is enough room to reach around to the top of the transmission and access the bolt. Only one bolt holds the shift rod yoke to the transmission shift rod. There is not a ton of room, but is definitely doable from underneath.
