4.5 central locking problem

Hi All
Recently we took the car out for a run on my insistence Anyway when returning to the car the two rear doors refused to open? They have both worked up to this point. There were 5 of us, so the younger and more agile had to climb through the windows Can't imagine why the girlfriend wanted to take her car
Any input would be appreciated.
Just for reference the check valve in the engine bay is working. I was thinking that both rear doors not working may be a clue? do they share the same valve or tubing?
Thanks John.

Rear doors have a "childproof" feature that prevents opening from the inside depending on how the safety catch on the latch mechanism is set. Move catch toward the exterior of the door to deactivate the feature.

even if the auto locks failed , you can operate the car in manual mode , just lift the mushrooms by hand , and use the outside handle .

I have tried lifting the little posts but they are resisting? It seems that they are being held down?
As for the child locks. The doors do not have the child locks activated, because they worked fine then just stopped working?
Thanks Guys. John.
