3 prong power window switch

I have a 67 w108 that needs a new power window switch on the front passenger door. The switch it uses at the moment has 3 prongs (early). Most I have found have 4 prongs(late). Can the four prong switch be wired successfully in its place? If so what is the schematic?
Or does anybody have the part # for the early three prong switch? My google search attempts have failed to give me any info worth a hoot.
Car is a LHD

I will load pics from my PC this evening. Tried to load them last night and kept getting an error with the mobile version. Thanks for the help.

I was able to upload some pics of the switch, The top half of the switch is in working order its the electrical leads that are molded into the plastic. two have broken off. both are the directional leads the center is a common lead that completes the circuit. Ive thought about trying to repair the switch but the plastic has become brittle with age and I cant think of a repair that would last.

This switch is becoming a bit rare, as far as I can tell by 1968 they stopped using it and went to a 4 prong switch. witch appears to take a plug type connection, where as my switch the leads are wired in with screws.

I was wondering if the four prong switch could be wired in its place, as I can get them new.

My switch matches the rest in the car, it would be wonderful to find one that matches.

Think I've got a way to fix the switch. Will attempt this weekend.
