If you are willing to do a little work you can definitely beat the Classic Center prices. You need to KNOW YOUR PART NUMBERS and to do that you need to USE EPC. If you know your part number than you can buy from several on-line Mercedes dealerships that offer parts on-line. If you google "trademotion mercedes" you will get a number of sites, including a dealership in Ft. Lauderdale and one in South Atlanta. Put in the part number (without the "A") and it tells you the MSRP and their discount price. Be aware that each dealership (and the Classic Center is a dealership) sets their own prices but MSRP is standard throughout the US. The local dealer in Pasadena CA used to charge about 40% OVER MSRP...

My rule of thumb is if I need Tom to help me with parts and I have questions, I always buy from him. And if I can do the work myself then I buy it elsewhere. But I live in California so when I buy from Tom I am paying about 10% in sales tax that I'm not paying if I buy from one of the other places...

MSRP for parts will surprise you. Some are more than you can imagine, some are less than you would have guessed. There are lots of items on ebay considered "vintage mercedes" that can be bought on-line from a Mercedes dealer cheaper than from eBay...

...related to previous post, the on-line sites will show something like can't find part for a part that it can't find. It definitely IS capable of showing an MSRP and an on-line part for a part that is no longer available. In case you order such a part you will get an email or a phone call in a few days. If you want to find out right now if it is available you have to pick up the phone and ask a dealer (or Tom). If you can't find a part number then turn to Tom to sell you the part. Lots of parts have the wrong replacement part numbers. And some parts that you can't find on-line you can find through Tom. Example: correct fuel pump for a W111, MB-rebuilt water pump for a W111....

Yeah, the trunk rubber I got was URO. I'll definitely take some time and start researching the part numbers... the car won't even be ready for new parts until the bodywork and paint are done, so I've got time.

I searched on EPC and I can't locate the window seals.

114.023 North America (250C) ->

-> 69 Door Coverings ->55948 -> Door Lining Used with Electrical....

gets you a diagram of door panels.

From Mercedes Catalog B 1969, I believe this diagram(seen below) shows the rubber seals.

Where can I locate the right category to extract the part number on EPC?

Thanks!

Hi Hages -

The picture you posted is from 114.023 72-doors 001-doors page 3 in EPC. I'm not sure which pieces you need, but that's the picture in EPC that matches your page from Catalog B.

I'm thinking he has 114023 not 114073, but that part might be the same. Some door stuff is different I think.

I wouldn't buy it from the classic center if I had the part number. I WOULD buy it from the classic center if I needed a check on the part number. I buy from on-line MB dealers because they are cheaper if I have done all the work with part numbers, and I buy from the Classic Center if they do it for me. That's just how I work. (Google trademotion mercedes for on-line real MB dealerships that sell parts on the internet)

dbdepot for one and other similar sources In Germany ,google them.

Classic car centre prices may be more appropriate for models like the gullwing .
