That has to do for which specific MOTOR that particular FIP is designed .... read internal or external lubrication.
Interesting and I stand correct. As does the table in the sl113 website which incorrectly lists "B". Attached are pictures of an injection pump from a 250 SE sedan, the tag from the pump from the 250 SE sedan, and the tag from the pump in my 250 SL pagoda. Same part number. So sl113 is wrong. Having said that I now know more. I know that a 250SE pump and a 250SL pump are the same. I would be willing to guess that 280SE and 280SL pumps are also the same depending on year.

Second ooops. The Z at the end (on sl113) depends on how early the 250 SL is... So the "A" vs "B" is still wrong, the Z isn't.
