I hate to admit it, but you were spot on about the costs. Had it been a 6.3, I would have proceeded and closed the deal. Speaking of 6.3's, there is one soon to be available for sale. The owner likes me and promised me first crack at it. Hopefully I can buy it.
I don't wanna sound like a "sissy pants", but Fonzis comments stabbed me in the heart. .... No biggy, i'm not going to hold it against him, I don't hold grudges, I never do.
A W109 6.3 is worth money in any condition, although sometimes they are parts cars. If you want to pick something really difficult and expensive to fix and get on the road, pick a W109 6.3 -- I saw one at the junkyard once, pulled a few parts not knowing what to get. Then another one of us got the rest of the car.
You're right to not let Fonzi's comments stab you in the heart. He was trying to help and he doesn't know your relationship with Alfred so let it slide.
As for how to tell the men from the women, generally the men have penisis. (Just one per man usually) So if you're not sure, just ask. As for telling the gents out of the men, that is much more complicated. Takes time. No worries though, I am pretty sure it is mostly men on most of the car forums.
Enjoy your journey into the fabulous world of W108...
